Wiki's

In a public library situation I think a subject guide wiki would be a great idea. We could put common reference questions/school assignments and resources we have found useful on the subject guide wiki and thus share our findings and not re-invent the wheel every time!

Also within a school library environment we could provide links to currents texts that could be used for assignments and during HSC an example could be books that can be used for The Journey.

The idea of the procedures manual on the web is great due to the ease of access, however my concern would be unauthorised people changing things they shouldn't! I guess this would be an instance where you would limit who had access and who had update permissions. There is certainly a wealth of information on the Library Success wiki.

I found this task a little bit difficult, however I did get there in the end. I am starting to think that i am not so technical savvy. I like the idea of RSS feeds as you are getting up to date information on what interests you and you do not have to wade through information that has no interest for you. The site that i selected are.

Powerhouse Photo of the day
LibraryBytes
The shifted librarian
U2 News
ABC News: Offbeat.

Libraries could use RSS feeds to do with new books being launched changes to electronic databases, serial publications etc.

I didn't find any other good examples of libary blogs as I was getting frustrated.
